Sleep Talking was published by Decathlon books and is the third in a series of ten to be published over a two year span. Decathlon Books is a collaborative publishing project initiated with photographer and film maker Peter Sutherland - together we work as the editors, curators and designers for the series.
Todd Jordan's photos are simple and uncluttered - relaxed pictures of his friends, the women he loves and the places he travels to. However, these are more than snapshots. There is a feeling of memories captured - but also of a camera being used to connect with a community of people, to look a little closer than is normally possible.
In many ways it is the people we know and the places we’ve seen, and perhaps more particularly our memory of them, that make us who we are. The images in this book act as a kind of sideways portrait of the photographer who took them - we are able to look at the world as he sees it and understand something about how he thinks and feels.
Like all the Decathlon books this is printed in Queens on a web press. Everything is intentionally stripped down to the simplest (cheapest) form - with a 2 color cover and black and white on newsprint interior / 8.5’ x 11’ / 64 pages.
