This class was delivered to design students at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2008.
Essentially an introduction to basic design theory, principles and practice. Students are asked to create a series of visual designs that become increasingly more complex using the basic building blocks of design - (the dot, circle, square, line, texture and color) described by Armin Hofmann in his Design Manual.
Students employ a variety of grids in order to study and analyse line, shape, form and other visual constructions and produce a series of small books detailing their findings.
