This is a more detailed look at the Ara Peterson video installation that formed an important part of the Transparent Eyeball show at the Liverpool Biennial.
The art work is titled Kaleidoscope Feedback and it features five separate videos, each viewed on an independent monitor placed on the gallery floor.
I’m uncertain of the exact method Ara used to produce these videos - I think he takes advantage of the strange distortions that can be achieved by pointing a video camera at a mirror and recording and re-recording the signal.
